Coaching Staff

Academy Director - Jay Anderson, Head Coach, Hellgate High School boys’ varsity program (2011 Montana State Champions

Our coaching staff is comprised of paid, licensed professional coaches, trained parents, and selected upper-level players from Strikers’ Competitive Program.  We strive for a 7 to 1 ratio to ensure plenty of individual attention and instruction.

Training Times and Location:

Training/practice is held Monday through Thursday for the first two weeks of the Academy season in March.  After this two-week introduction, practice takes place every Monday and Wednesday afternoon, from March to June.  Practices are held at Lewis & Clark School from 4:30 - 6:00 pm.

Friday Playdate Games:

Players are asked to arrive at Lewis and Clark School by 5:30 pm; games will end by 7:00 pm.  Coaches call the players into one large group and specific instruction are given to the players based on their training week.  Then, players disperse to play in their games.

Tournaments

The Strikers Academy emphasizes skills development through training, but Strikers understands that boys and girls want to play tournaments as well.  One benefit of the Strikers Academy format is that we can draw interested players from our various training groups when needed to make up teams for tournaments.  The players are not locked into a single team.

Tournaments are not mandatory.  Of course we would love for everyone in the Academy to take part, but we know that this is not possible with other commitments.  The tournaments are a way to play against non-Striker opposition, and cap off an Academy season.  Academy players are provided information about tournaments early in the season and can decide the extent to which they want to be involved.
